BMH Fuel Quality Control equipment constitute a compact, integrated and closed system. The purpose of these equipment is to improve and update the fuel quality as well as to optimize the particle size suitable for each particular boiler.
Separating inert materials, such as stones, bricks, glass and soil increases the fuel’s calorific value. Automatic sorting also produces recyclable raw materials. Typical separation equipment in the TYRANNOSAURUS® process are Magnet, Eddy Current Separator, TYRANNOSAURUS®Fines Screen and TYRANNOSAURUS® Air Classifier
SEPARATION EQUIPMENT FOR SOLID BIOFUELS
BMH Fuel Quality Control Unit typically consists of metal separation with a belt magnet, particle size control with a TYRANNOSAURUS® BioScreen and oversize crushing with a slow-speed TYRANNOSAURUS® 6500 BioCrusher as well as fuel sampling. This equipment ensures that unwanted fractions are removed and the particle size is optimized.
TYRANNOSAURUS® 1500 Fines Screens
TYRANNOSAURUS® Fines Screen takes out the fine impurities in sizes smaller than 15 – 20 mm. It separates sand, soil, glass splinters, ceramics and other small heavy and wet particles and also reduces the content of ash, humidity, chlorine and heavy metals.
TYRANNOSAURUS® Fines Screen is a modular design, rubber disc screen with rotating shafts and rubber stars. The shape and material of the stars enable high screening precision and durability. The throughput of the
TYRANNOSAURUS® Fines Screen is adjustable with speed and star gap.
TYRANNOSAURUS® 2500 Air Classifiers
The final touch of quality for the end product is given by the TYRANNOSAURUS® Air Classifier. It typically separates the material flow into heavy and light fraction removing inert material, such as glass, stones and ceramics.
Thanks to the preceding treatment process phases, the separation is very effective. The input material is small in size and it comes to the air classifier in a very thin and even stream. There are no airborne plastic bags, including for example stones, which could continue their way to the light fraction output.
The separated heavy fraction consists for instance of stones, metals, glass, ceramics, organics, wood and hard plastics. It is also possible to use a three-fraction separation, in which case the so-called medium fraction, containing the organics, wood, hard plastics etc., is taken out separately, if desired.
The output light fraction is typically both mechanically and chemically clean and ready high quality SRF/RDF.
Operation costs for TYRANNOSAURUS® Air Classifiers are low and they work seamlessly as a part of the process.
TYRANNOSAURUS® BioScreens
TYRANNOSAURUS® BioScreens provide a reliable and cost-effective way to separate oversize material from the fuel flow for secondary crushing in the TYRANNOSAURUS® 6500 BioCrusher. They are ideal for screening biomass fuels, such as wood chips, bark, agro biomass and pellets, peat and SRF.
TYRANNOSAURUS® BioScreens were developed based on conventional disc screens. The proven technical solutions, combined with flexible modular design and innovative purpose-built performance, ensure that TYRANNOSAURUS® BioScreens are superior to any other fuel screen in terms of both reliability and end-product quality. Higher capacities are easily achieved by increasing the number of shaft assemblies. The size of separated fractions is determined by the chosen disc gap.
Main advantages
- high capacity per screening area,
- end-product particle size is determined by the chosen disc gap,
- compact, simple and dust‐tight design,
- self‐cleaning action provided by rotation of the discs,
- specially designed discs accelerate material movement and maximize screening performance,
- shaft assembly construction and disc material can be chosen according to usage requirements.
Star Screen
Star Screen brings more precision and availability to screening. Adjustability for different materials and conditions as well as modular design maximize the screening result.
Star Screen has been developed to handle materials which include difficult impurities, such as stones and heavy metals. Thanks to the design of the stars, there are no unforeseeable stoppages due to clogging and jamming. In addition, thanks to the special material of the stars, the risk of sparking is limited.
Star Screen has large hatches on the sides and top ease maintenance. Fox example, due to the new design, taking the star shaft away is fast and easy.
Desired particle size from 25-150 mm range can be separated from the material with Star Screen. Star Screen can be installed to already existing process to replace Disc Screen.
Pocket FinesScreen
Main advantages
- high capacity per screening area,
- end-product particle size is determined by the chosen size of pockets,
- compact, simple and dust‐tight design and
- self‐cleaning action provided by rotation of the rolls.
Pocket FinesScreens were originally developed to separate saw dust from pulp chips as a reject. Nowadays they provide a reliable way to separate sand and other fines, such as dirt and saw dust from the fuel flow. They are ideal for screening biomass fuels, such as wood chips, demolition wood, bark, agro biomass, pellets as well as SRF.
The design is based on rotating overlapped rolls. While in operation, the precision-machined surface structures form momentarily closing compartments, or “pockets”, between the rolls. In these compartments the fines pass through the screen. Thanks to this unique design, only particles smaller than the chosen size are separated from the accept.
Pocket FinesScreen are superior to all competitive fines screens in terms of both reliability and end-product quality. Higher capacities are easily achieved by increasing the number of shaft assemblies. The size of separated fractions is determined by the chosen size of pockets.
